UFL Rec Sports CPR: Ensuring a Safe and Enjoyable Experience at Lake Wauburg

As a RecSports Student Assistant - Lake Wauburg Waterfront Lifeguard, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of swimmers and boaters on Lake Wauburg. Your primary responsibility is to prevent injuries by eliminating hazardous situations and behaviors, while also monitoring the safety of those enjoying the lake.

To fulfill this important role, you must be certified in lifeguarding, first aid, and CPR skills through the American Red Cross. You will also need to maintain a current Florida Boater License to operate the rescue boat for Lake Watch. Additionally, you must have reliable transportation to get to work.

Your duties at Lake Wauburg will include monitoring boaters on the lake, operating a motorized rescue boat, and working equipment rental at the boathouse. You will also be responsible for enforcing all facility rules and regulations, as well as promoting and maintaining cleanliness and appearance within and surrounding RecSports facilities.

As a member of our team, you will be expected to demonstrate a strong work ethic, uphold the expectations of the Cornerstones of RecSports Service (accountability, anticipating needs, attitude, and atmosphere), and exhibit a desire to learn and apply knowledge as a RecSports ambassador. You will also develop professional relationships with coworkers, participants, and guests.

As a Lifeguard at Lake Wauburg, you will be working shifts that are typically 6.5-8.5 hours long, with the potential for longer shifts during peak periods. You must be able to respond to all emergency situations and adhere to established protocol, including pre- and post-incident procedures.
